about
Turns out, I was writing this song about Charles Manson at the moment of his death. Seems I started it about 30 minutes prior. It wasn’t complete coincidence, I knew he had been returned from the hospital to die in prison.
He died at age 83 on November 19th 2017 at 8:13 pm.
That also happened to be my dad’s 83rd Birthday.
I’m told Charles Manson arrived in SF in June of 1967, the month of the year I was born. Could have been my birthday. Who knows.
That was “The Summer of Love."
As if.
From birth to death, there isn’t anything not tragic about the Charles Manson story.
The only mother that could have possibly been worse than his birth mother, were the state institutions that raised him.
Anyway, I wrote different song about him the day before his death, I’ll share that one soon, but for now, here is this bummer of a tune.
Thanks for listening.

Hello From Death Row
=================
2017 Merkley???
A mother fears nothing
like a vengeful son.
No one knows better
how ugly is done.
Monkey see,
monkey do.
Next thing you know,
he’s me and you.
He's me and you.
And if he were Jesus
would anyone know?
He learned how to please us
in a show on death row.
The mirror sees us
from our head to toes, but,
if you were Jesus,
would anyone know?
Would you know?
If you were Jesus,
would you know?
If you were Jesus,
would you know?
Would you know?⁵
Hello from Death Row.
Hello²
Hello from Death Row.
